God heard her plea and she gave birth to Samuel, who grew up to be one of the most revered prophets in Israel's history (Bible, Book of 1 Samuel 1:9-20, NLT). Next, let's look at Daniel. Daniel was a man of prayer, so much so that he risked his life rather than stop praying to God. His faith was rewarded when, after being thrown into a den of lions, God saved him from harm (Bible, Book of Daniel 6:16-23, NLT). Another powerful example comes from the early days of the Christian church. Peter was imprisoned, but the church prayed earnestly for him.
